Powder Room Refresh in Newtown, PA
Newtown, PA - We're thrilled to announce the completion of a powder room refresh in a Newtown, PA single-family home! This project came as a last-minute request from the homeowner, who had already removed the existing plumbing fixtures and installed new wallpaper. Our work included installing a new tile floor, replacing the toilet and vanity, and adding finishing touches such as a towel rod and mirror. The result? A beautifully updated space that blends functionality with style!
Tile Replacement
Originally, this powder room had tan 12x12 inch tiles that gave it a dated feel. With the plumbing fixtures already removed, the existing tiles were demolished and replaced with new, modern 12x24 inch tiles. Switching from 12x12 inch tiles to 12x24 inch tiles offers a modern and elegant upgrade, giving the space a more open and streamlined appearance. The larger format reduces grout lines, creating a cleaner look while also making maintenance easier. Additionally, the rectangular shape allows for versatile layout options, such as a staggered or herringbone pattern, enhancing the room's visual appeal. As always, protecting the existing features of the room was critical, so we made sure to secure cardboard to the walls to prevent any possible damage to the wallpaper.
The Vanity
After the floor was installed, we shifted our attention to the vanity. The customer selected a beautiful all-in-one vanity by Embassy (Model #EB30C-0600). It may seem minimal, but it’s built to last and weighs over 65 pounds! This 30 inch vanity comes with a Carrara marble countertop and matching backsplash and a solid brass base coated in a satin gold finish. It comes with a matching gold p-trap for design continuity to the wall.
Additional Hardware
To complete the look of the vanity, we installed a brass faucet. The GGStudy faucet on Amazon beautifully complemented the spherical and curvy features of the Embassy vanity. We then installed matching sconces (Possini Euro Elena 21" High Warm Brass Wall Sconce) and an ornate Baroque-style mirror for a cohesive look.
Final Touches
The last thing to go in was the Project Source elongated toilet. This was a fairly simple installation, starting with an examination of the flange, ensuring it was clean and in good condition for a proper seal. A new wax ring was carefully placed to prevent leaks, and the toilet was then lowered into position, aligning it with the floor bolts. Once securely bolted down, we connected the water supply line and tested for leaks. Finally, we applied a neat bead of caulk around the base for a finished look and extra stability.
